Nick Becker and Stephen Tibor, both SCPGA Junior Tour Managers have accepted positions within other organizations this winter. Nick Becker will be working as an assistant golf professional at Pinnacle Peak Country Club and Stephen Tibor has taken over as the Junior Golf Director for the Michigan PGA Section. We are grateful for their service to our organization and wish them luck in their future endeavors.
As the 2013 season begins we are excited to be introducing new members to the SCPGA Junior Tour staff. The SCPGA is confident that the new staff will help us build upon the success we experienced in the 2012.

Michael Mowry joined the SCPGA staff in December of 2012 as a Junior Tour Manager. Michael has been a valued tournament operation team member for the last year and will be a great addition to the SCPGA Junior Tour staff. Michael is a graduate of the University of Dayton and has worked not only with the SCPGA Junior Tour for the past year but also has experience with the Southern Ohio PGA section. Michael will combine his tournament operations background with his other professional experiences to continue the development of the Players Tour.
“I have truly enjoyed the past year working as a tournament operation team member and look forward to playing a more integral part of the continued success of the SCPGA Junior Tour,” Michael states.
Max DeSpain, Kentucky resident and alumni of Western Kentucky University, will be joining the SCPGA team as a Junior Golf Coordinator. Max has years of experience working in junior golf and will be a real asset to our staff. He has previously worked for the Kentucky Junior Golf Foundation, AJGA, and Mid-Atlantic PGA section. Max will work directly on the Toyota Tour Cup series and its expanded 2013 schedule.
“I am excited to bring my professional and educational experiences to Southern California and the SCPGA Junior Tour. This is one of the most well-respected programs in the country and I am glad to be a part of its continuing success.”

Christopher Gilkey from Annopolis, MD will be the final piece to the 2013 SCPGA Junior Tour staff as a Junior Tour Manager. Alumni of Sheppard University and former college golfer, Chris will be working hard with Mike Mowry to manage this year’s Players Tour (formerly Junior Tour). Chris will use his experiences with the Northern Texas PGA to assist in the operation of the largest tier of the SCPGA Junior Tour.
Chris offers, “I am looking forward to working with the junior golfers and parents within Southern California. I am anxious to work with the new and existing SCPGA staff in order to grow the game of golf.”
