2010 Super Seminar
Don’t miss your chance to spend an incredible day learning from some of the heavyweights in the golf industry during the 2010 SCPGA Super Seminar, Monday March 22nd at Pacific Palms Resort and Industry Hills Golf Club.  The day-long seminar is sponsored by LaBarre-Oksnee Insurance and Callaway Golf, and supported by Pukka Headwear and Kaplan Virtual Education.  After the seminar, the SCPGA Board of Directors meeting will be open to all PGA Professionals in attendance.

Golf Range Magazine Top 50 Instructors
The Fall 2009 issue of Golf Range Magazine honored several SCPGA Professionals as their annual Top 50 Golf Instructors list was published.

PGM 2.0
Effective January 4, 2010, individuals interested in joining the PGA Apprentice Program should be directed to PGALinks and How to Become a Member.  Individuals pay a fee of $200 to access the three qualifying courses on The PGA Knowledge Center.

SCPGA Member Chris Starkjohann, PGA of Torrey Pines Gold Club & Outings and the Carlsbad Golf Center was named the PGA National Senior Player of the Year, the first PGA Professional to earn this award three different times.

USGA and the PGA to Create Repository for African-American Golf History
In recognition of the numerous contributions that African Americans have made to golf over more than a century, the United States Golf Association and The PGA of America have agreed to create a centralized repository for artifacts and documents related to the history of African Americans in golf, to be located at the USGA Museum in Far Hills, N.J.

Jim Vernon Steps Down as President of the USGA
